The Hacker House has remained closed until recently when it was leased to the Enigma Theatre. The current owners still continue its paranormal research on the property, but does not support or agree with the actions of the Enigma Theatre who insist on opening the house to the public as entertainment. Be warned, this place is patient, it waits quietly... it isn't nice...
Phineas
Nightshade and his Enigma Theatre regularly present strange and macabre exhibitions
catering to the entertainment of those with peculiar tastes. No real records
exist of their history. They do not discuss their past or how they came to be
associated with each other. Their vocation keeps them constantly moving from
one place to another. There are always stories of strange things that seem to
occur wherever the they frequent.
Many rumors circulate about the Enigma Theatre and what they really represent. One tale is they collect beings whose existence is only imagined in legend. Creatures of the dark side who need protection from the outside world. Nightshade calls them misunderstood, while others call them monsters. But the details are vague. Those who may know have not kept their health or sanity long enough to describe their experience. As one report goes, it seems Nightshade gives his creatures a certain amount of 'playtime', allowing them to roam freely about the residence and grounds during certain times of the year. They do not always cooperate with their keepers, however, and sometimes breakout and roam free throughout the vicinity. Its bad timing if this happens during a public tour. The outcome has been, well... less than desirable. The few times this unfortunate situation has occurred keeps the Enigma Theatre on the move, just ahead of inquiry and scandal.
Most recently, Nightshade found the
Hacker House. Thrilled by its history and believing it is the perfect experience
for his audience, he managed to secure a lease from the property's current owner
and intends to open the house for their special tours this fall.

Meet some of our troupe from the Enigma Theatre who 'produce' the Hacker House event. The Enigma Theatre is an odd group of vagabonds who delight in producing special events for those with peculiar or eclectic preferences. There are rumors circulating that Nightshade has found the missing diary of Johnas Hacker, and likes what he's found.
Phineas Nightshade and his Enigma Theatre troupe regularly present strange and macabre exhibitions catering to the entertainment of those with peculiar tastes. No real records exist of their history. His sometimes partner, Esber Kellum often welcomes guests to their odd performances. She enjoys surprising her guests with stories more based in legend and myth than in truth. She keeps the troupe together with an iron will, maintaining a tight grip on all but Phineas.
Rumored to be slightly mad, Adessa Holms wanders in and about the guests asking for small favors and tidbits of personal information that she may share with the troupe for their own entertainment. She exists truly in her own reality.
Annice Leech watches everything. She rarely speaks, and then very softly. She once was a member of a large family that for mysterious reasons is no longer living. She can be seen gathering up the items that Adessa collects from others. Its not known what she does with her collections.
The outsider is Medrim Atherton.
Sometime in the past he did something that he has yet to be forgiven. He is
kept around for unknown reasons, but only at arm's length. He is rarely allowed
to associate with Nightshade, and revels in any opportunity to be seen with
either Phineas or Esber. Befriended by Adessa, Medrim finds himself the center
of heated encounters with Adessa, often centering on his mortality.
It is rumored that Dominique ("Dommie") is from Europe, yet she finds the 'new country' more to her liking. Her personal tastes fit perfectly with the troupe, and her liking for bloodsports keeps many wary of her true desires. Her association with other members of the troupe is cordial, but something keeps her in the shadows, avoiding everyone during the day. After dusk, however, she is very active, enthusiastic and actively enjoys our guests.
Spooky is the 'Jackson-of-all-trades' of the troupe. He calls himself a Spooktician Helper. This unique title aptly defines his duties. He is constantly called on to perform the many mundane tasks needed to run an Enigma Theatre presentation. He has constructed much of what you see. Not the finest craftsman, he does try to make the Hacker House a unique experience. He is not taken too seriously by any of the troupe, but his devotion is clear. He is often seen working throughout the production, keeping everyone and everything running and happy. A tough job at best!
The unfortunate widow Jobe has taken up with the Enigma Theatre after the death of her husband Jasper. It is her long deceased son, little Tommy Jobe whose body parts were found in the Hacker fountain. She is still looking for the rest of her son, and the guilty one who murdered him. She will gladly relate the history of her sad life if you wish to hear.
A new member of the Enigma Theatre, Fiendly is a happy sort. He just wants to play. All he wants to know is "Want to play my game?". We're never quite sure which game he has in mind, but the previous loser is behind him.
We do not know the name of the Hacker House Tarot Reader. She only speaks when delivering a view of things to come. She stays to herself in her booth in HackerTown, waiting for someone to enter who wishes to interpret their future. Enter to find what awaits you.
Separated from her caravan, she has taken up residence here and has since joined the Enigma Theatre. She claims to be of royal Gypsy heritage, but no longer seeks her place with "normal humans" as she now calls them. Her favorite, Joseph, only lurks in the darkness within the Hacker House, never seen by "normals" - but she takes dark delight in his company after the house is closed to guests.
